INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says a woman is dead after a Friday afternoon shooting on the city's northeast side.
The shooting happened around 4 p.m. in the 9500 block of Village Way, which is right next to the Meijer on 96th Street.
Police found the victim inside a home and there did not appear to be forced entry.
On Monday, the woman was identified as 33-year-old Brittany Allen.
Detectives are currently speaking with witnesses and asking anyone who may have video doorbells or other information about the case to contact them.
No information about a suspect or suspect vehicle was immediately available.
