INDIANAPOLIS — A shooting on the Indianapolis south side Thursday evening left a man critically wounded.
According to a public information officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, it happened after 9 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Shelby Street, near Pleasant Run Parkway.
The man was rushed by ambulance to Eskenazi Hospital after being shot.
At the scene, which is next to a gas station and almost under Interstate-65, police noticed a number of shell casings.
Police had no immediate information on what led up to the shooting or whether a suspect had been identified.
