Police arrest 21 people in 4-days of drugs busts in Marion

MARION — Police in Marion arrested 21 people over a four-day period in drug raids.

The JEAN Team Drug Task Force was joined by the Grant County Sheriff's Department and the Marion Police Department for two raids related to methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and marijuana, according to a press release from the Marion Police Department.

The JEAN Team was investigating the illegal sale of crack cocaine across the city. Police say crack cocaine is a stimulant that is highly addictive.

During their investigation, multiple traffic stops were performed on March 21 and a search warrant was served at a home in the 1500 block of Washington Street in Marion. Six people were arrested that day. All face charges ranging from dealing cocaine to false informing.

Then on March 24, the JEAN Team conducted several other investigations into the illegal sale of methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana. Multiple traffic stops were performed and a search warrant was served at a home in the 1300 block of W Jeffras Avenue in Marion that day. During that investigation, 15 more people were arrested raging in age from 21 to 39 years old. Their charges ranged from dealing methamphetamine to resisting law enforcement.

The incidents remain under investigation.
