Police: Columbus man, 37, arrested after stabbing woman multiple times

COLUMBUS, IN. — A 37-year-old Columbus man is being held in the Bartholomew County Jail after police say he stabbed a woman multiple times early Thursday morning.

At 2:50 a.m., Columbus Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Woodlane Dr on reports of a disturbance. When CPD officers arrived, they located a woman who "was stabbed multiple times."

The victim was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

The man accused of stabbing the woman was also in the residence when police arrived at the scene.

The suspect is being held in jail on a Battery charge with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 5 Felony.

The investigation into this case is ongoing.
