INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed late Saturday on the north side of Indianapolis.
According to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 6200 block of North Tacoma Avenue just after 10:45 p.m. Saturday on report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of family.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and began canvassing the area for witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency also responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence.
Police say a person involved was interviewed and released. At this time, police are still trying to determine if charges will be filed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
