Police release video of person of interest in sexual assault on popular Indiana trail

WEST LAFAYETTE — Police in West Lafayette have released surveillance video of a person of interest in an alleged sexual assault Saturday morning on the Wabash Heritage Trail System.

A woman told West Lafayette Police Department officers she was sexually assaulted around 11:45 a.m. on the trail near the waste water treatment plant in West Lafayette.

Police are looking for a black man described as being 5 foot 8 inches tall, with short hair, no facial hair, and having a slim build, according to the release. He was wearing gray shorts with white boxer briefs, white socks, black tennis shoes, and no shirt. He possibly had on a black bandanna.

The video below shows the man police are currently looking at as a person of interest.
