INDIANAPOLIS -- Bones found in a wooded area on Indianapolis' west side over the weekend have been identified as human remains.
Officer were called to the area of S. Harding Street near Oliver Avenue Saturday after someone reported finding bones. It was unclear at the time whether the remains were human.
An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson confirmed Monday that the bones had been identified as human remains.
The identity of the person or the cause of death have not been determined.
Additional testing is being completed on the remains and their discovery will remain under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
