INDIANAPOLIS -- The United States Marshals Service is asking people to get in contact with its investigators if they came in contact with a man who was arrested for impersonating a U.S. Marshal.

Larry Lawson was arrested in October 2017 for impersonating a federal officer and lying to a federal officer.

Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal W. Buz Brown says they want the public to come forward with any information about incidents where Lawson may have identified himself as a U.S. Marshal.

"We take this matter very serious when someone is impersonating a law enforcement officer and impersonating a federal officer could impact a breach of trust between the community and other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies," said Chief Deputy Brown.

Anyone with information about Lawson impersonating a U.S. Marshal can contact Criminal Investigator Gabe Guerrero at (317) 226 - 6566.
