Shooting leaves one dead on Indianapolis west side

INDIANAPOLIS — A Thursday night shooting on the Indianapolis west side has left one person dead.

According to a public information officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 1700 block of North Exeter Avenue at about 8:20 p.m.

That's near West 16th Street and North Tibbs Avenue and east of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

A shooting victim was dead at the scene. There have been no arrests.

Information on circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been released by the police department.
