Silver Alert canceled, two young South Bend girls found safe

SOUTH BEND — The Statewide Silver Alert for a missing 6-year-old girl and her 1-year-old sister has been canceled.

South Bend Police say the two young sisters were dropped off with a relative who lives in St. Joseph County and they are both safe.

The children's father, Adam Rushing, is not in custody and his location is unknown at this time, according to police.

South Bend Police say 1-year-old Eleanor Rushing and 6-year-old Halle Rushing are belived to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.

Eleanor is described as being 30 inches tall and weighing 30 pounds with light brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue and white striped shirt and red pants.

Halle is described as being 4 feet tall and weighing 60 pounds with blond hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with a flamingo and palm tree that says "OH HEY."

The girls could be in the company of their father, Adam Paul Rushing, 31. Rushing is described as being 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds with green eyes and a bald head. Rushing also has a full sleeve tattoo on his left arm and a "Swamp Monster" tattoo on his right forearm. He may be driving a black 2017 Dodge Journey with Indiana plate AIG938.

According to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office, the incident began as a domestic dispute.

The girls were last seen around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
