INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Police are investigating an apparent road rage incident on Interstate 465 that led to shots fired on Friday.

According to a report from state police, troopers were called to the area of Interstate 465 and U.S. 31 on the city's south side around 3:30 p.m. Friday on report of shots fired.

Troopers said a red Dodge Ram pulling a trailer was found to have bullet holes in the trailer. Police said neither the adult male, adult female or juvenile in the truck were injured.

The suspect vehicle is described as a purple Nissan Altima with a chrome grill. State police said the Nissan was reportedly occupied by four black males wearing black masks. More than one of the occupants allegedly displayed a firearm before shots were fired.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed the incident to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-232-TIPS.

Detectives are also asking trucking companies with dash cameras to check their footage if they had trucks in the area.
