SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. -- A SWAT situation in Shelby County Thursday morning ended after the suspect was found dead inside a home.
Police were called to the home near Indiana Avenue between Washington Street and Jackson Street after they located the vehicle of a man involved in an earlier battery complaint.
The 32-year-old man fired one shot at officers inside the home, prompting the initial standoff. Officers did not return fire and no one was injured in that shooting.
The man was found dead inside the home a short time later from what police believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The incident remains under investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.
