DELAWARE COUNTY — Authorities are investigating after two adults and a 14-year-old were found shot and killed inside a home Sunday afternoon in Delaware County.
Delaware County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency personnel responded to the home in the 500 block of North Timothy Way, just north of Muncie around 4:30 p.m. Responding officers found three people dead inside the home.
Authorities later identified the dead as 58-year-old Casey Ritchie, 45-year-old Denise Miles and 14-year-old Rylee Ritchie. Detectives say all three lived in the home Casey and Denise were Rylee's parents.
Details of the circumstances of the deaths weren't immediately released, but the sheriff's office said there was no threat to the public. Police are investigating the deaths as a possible double murder-suicide. Autopsies were planned Monday to confirm cause of death.
State police and Muncie police were asked to assist in the investigation, which was ongoing. Additional information was expected to be released Monday.
