CARMEL, Ind. -- A 12-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man were arrested by Carmel Police for armed robbery of an AT&T store.

Police say the two suspects entered the store in the ten-thousand block of N. Michigan Rd. around 3:30 p.m. last Saturday and held customers and employees at gunpoint.

The suspects forced the employees to give them several thousands of dollars worth of merchandise before they left the store, according to Lt. Joe Bickel with Carmel Police.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were able to locate their vehicle a short time later.

Both suspects were arrested after a short foot pursuit.

Charges against the 12-year-old are pending.

Police say Jalen Joiner, 23, of Indianapolis is facing charges of robbery, theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, criminal confinement, carrying a handgun without a license, pointing a firearm, intimidation and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Joiner was taken to the Hamilton County Jail and his bond was set at $500,000.

The juvenile was taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Center for further processing.
