BROWNSBURG — Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Brownsburg over the weekend.
According to a report from Brownsburg police, officers were called to the 1000 block of Columbia Circle around 8 p.m. Saturday on report of a person shot.
Police said a caller told officers their friend, Steven Serio, 25, had told them he had shot and killed his mother.
When officers arrived on scene, they heard what they believed to be one gunshot. Officers forced entry into the residence and found Serio unresponsive in the living room with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. As officers searched the residence, they found a female victim deceased in this residence.
The woman was identified as Alana Serio, 59, who died from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
Police said Steven Serio was taken to Methodist Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
