Two kids arrested after rocks thrown onto I-80/94 near Gary

GARY — Two children were arrested Thursday for allegedly throwing rocks off an overpass onto Interstate 80/94 in northwest Indiana.

According to a news release from Indiana State Police, at around 1:15 p.m. Thursday, multiple motorists reported rocks being thrown from the Harrison Street bridge that overlooks I-80/94. Nobody was injured, but one vehicle sustained extensive damage.

The Gary Police Department found two children who matched the description of the rock throwers. They were charged with criminal mischief and taken to the Lake County Juvenile Dentention Center in Crown Point.
