Two people arrested in series of bank robberies around Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — Two people have been arrested in connection with a series of bank robberies around Indianapolis, metro police said Tuesday.

According to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the IMPD FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and the FBI have been investigating a series of bank robberies at Chase banks in Marion County since early September.

Police said investigators were able to identify an alleged suspect following the robbery of the Chase Bank at 5701 Castle Creek Parkway North Drive was robbed on Nov. 13. On Nov. 17, the Chase Bank at 3451 Kentucky Ave. was robbed by the same alleged suspect, police said.

Detectives arrested a 27-year-old Indianapolis woman and a 29-year-old Floyds Knob man on suspicion of armed robbery. The man was also in possession of a handgun at the time of his arrest, police said.
