INDIANAPOLIS — Two people were found dead inside a vehicle on Indianapolis' northeast side Thursday morning.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officers were called to the home in the 4500 block of N. Irwin Avenue around 11 a.m. after dispatchers received a call from someone claiming two people were shot and killed inside a vehicle at the intersection of Irwin Avenue and 45th Street.
Arriving officers located two people dead at the scene.
IMPD PIO Aaron Hamer said a man and a woman were found deceased inside a Red Trailblazer at that intersection.
On Friday, the Marion County Coroner released names of the deceased as Diane McFarland, 65, and Shane McFarland, 26.
The cause and manner of their death remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crime should contact IMPD or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
