Violent serial robber accused of attacking workers arrested by IMPD

INDIANAPOLIS — A man accused in several violent robberies at Indianapolis businesses is now behind bars.

Back in November, Indianapolis Police Department detectives said they began investigating several business robberies throughout the city that had similar characteristics.

As a result of that investigation, Jerry Davis, 49, was arrested.

Davis is facing multiple charges including robbery, strangulation, battery and corrupt business influence.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed against Davis, during several of the robberies listed below, he strangled, beat and shoved workers at the businesses he was robbing.

During one robbery attempt, court documents say Davis strangled a woman until she was nearly passed out and then sprayed pepper spray in her face. During another robbery, he's accused of beating a man over the head with a black pipe.

Davis is alleged to have committed robberies at the following businesses:
November 08, 2019: 2201 E. Broad Ripple Ave 21st Amendment Liquors
November 11, 2019: 2080 N. Shadeland Ave. Circle K
November 11, 2019: 7050 E. 21st Street Subway
November 12, 2019: 7103 N. Keystone Ave. Speedway
November 13, 2019: 5016 E. 62nd Street. A Taste of Indiana
November 18, 2019: 5990 E. 71st Street. Speedway
November 18, 2019: 2808 Westlane Road Dollar General
November 20, 2019: 4830 W. 38th Street. Speedway
November 20, 2019: 2490 Post Drive Denny’s
