INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police are investigating after a person suffering from a gunshot wound died early Wednesday at an east side hospital.
A walk-in patient who had been shot arrived at Community Hospital East just after 12:30 a.m., according to information from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The victim was pronounced deceased.
Police believe the shooting occurred at a different location, but officers were unable to find a crime scene. Detectives responded and took over the investigation.
The victim's identity has not been released.
