INDIANAPOLIS — In a year when Indianapolis is racing toward a record number of homicides, the city recorded its latest Friday night.
It happened in the 900 block of Edgemont Avenue, which is a few blocks west of Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Street on the city's west side.
IMPD is saying very little about the murder, except that the victim was an adult male who died of a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Eskenazi Hospital but did not survive.
Homicide detectives went to the scene looking for witnesses who might be able to help in the investigation.
There was no information from police on what led up to the shooting.
