JENNINGS COUNTY — A woman is accused of stealing another person's dentures and wearing them to her probation meeting.
The Jennings County Sheriff's Office took a report of stolen dentures on Monday. The victim told deputies that she knew the person who stole her fake teeth and she had been wearing them around town.
That same morning, deputies spoke to the suspect's probation officer who said they met with the woman and she was wearing teeth that "clearly were not hers."
On Wednesday, deputies went to the suspect's home to inquire about the theft. While speaking to her, the responding deputy saw the dentures in plain view inside the home and they had the victim's name written on them.
The dentures were recovered and the suspect is now facing at least one charge of theft. The incident remains under investigation.
