INDIANAPOLIS — A woman died in a shooting Sunday night on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were investigating a disturbance just before 9:30 p.m. in the 9900 block of Ellis Drive, near East 42nd Street and Mitthoeffer Road, when they heard multiple gunshots fired, Officer Genae Cook said in a news release
A woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound waved down officers from a car, Cook said.
Medics transported the woman to Eskenazi Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Her identity has not been released.
