Woman robbed, attacked with knife at downtown parking garage

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis police are investigating a report of a man with a large knife who attacked a robbed a woman downtown Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. in a parking garage near the Pan Am Pavilion in the 200 block of South Capitol Avenue.

According to an incident report filed by IMPD, a male suspect in his 30’s approached a 43-year-old woman while she was exiting her vehicle. The man was wearing a coat and hat and was armed with a large knife.

The woman suffered a laceration during the attack but was treated at the scene, according to police. She told officers the suspect robbed her of her keys and Coach purse and wallet, along with cash and an iPhone.

A detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.
