Workers find man shot to death in front of Indy business

INDIANAPOLIS — People arriving for work at a business on Indianapolis' east side found a man dead in front of the building.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the business in the 400 block of S. Kitley Avenue just before 8:30 a.m. for a report of a person down. When emergency crews arrived they found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. That man was pronounced dead at the scene.

IMPD Officer Genae Cook says police are unsure of the circumstances surrounding the man's death but his wounds are not believed to be self-inflicted. The Marion County Coroner will determine the victim's identity and cause of death.
