FISHERS, Ind. -- Two Fishers police officers are on administrative duty following a shooting Monday morning.

Police were called to a home in the 12000 block of Colbarn Drive around 10:15 a.m for a report of a person who was having an emotional crisis.

A former in-law who John Donadio, 51, had been living with called 911 with concerns about Donadio's mental health.

Donadio was sitting in his parked vehicle when officers arrived.

He showed a handgun and threatened officers, according to Officer Shawn Wynn with Fishers police.

Officer Wynn says the police responded to the threat by shooting at Donadio, who turned the gun on himself.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's unclear at this time which bullets struck and killed him, according to Wynn.

No officers were hurt.
