GREENSBURG, Ind. -- Honda’s Greensburg plant will add a third model to its production line next year when it begins manufacturing the automaker’s new Insight hybrid.

Honda North America announced on Tuesday that it will bring back its Insight model, which was discontinued in 2014, as an “upscale, stylish, five-passenger sedan.”

The new Insight will utilize the company’s two-motor hybrid system and will join Honda’s existing electrified vehicle lineup.

Honda did not offer an initial price point for the new Insight, but said it would be positioned about the popular Civic in the company’s passenger car lineup.

Honda’s Greensburg plant currently manufactures the Civic Sedan and Honda CR-V models

The new Insight is expected to hit the market next summer.
