MUNCIE, Ind. -- A Ball State University residence hall director is facing multiple charges of possessing child pornography.
Baden Robinson, 24, was arrested by Ball State University Police Department officers on Monday after an IT employee noticed unusual activity on the network account coming from his dorm and notified the police.
"We employ several layers of information security designed to protect university systems and data against outside attack," the university said in a statement released Tuesday. "In this case, one of our defensive systems identified numerous attempted connections to a remote site, flagged as hosting potentially illegal content."
According to court documents, Robinson told investigators that he viewed "thousands" of images and pornographic videos of children between 8 and 18 years old engaging in sexual acts over the past three years.
Robinson also told detectives that he prefers videos of girls between 8 and 13 years old.
Robinson has been employed at Ball State University since July.
The school has suspended Robinson and said his employment status will go "through the proper university procedures."

In terms of Mr. Robinson’s employment status …this case will go through the proper university procedures in terms of the status of his future employment. Mr. Robinson has seen suspended.
