DALEVILLE, Ind. (AP) — An Italy-based maker of filters for agriculture, heavy machinery, forestry and industrial businesses plans to open a facility in central Indiana that will serve as its North American headquarters.

The office of Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb announced the plans Thursday, which include Filtrec investing $1.3 million to establish the facility in Daleville. The site will allow it to help expand its market in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Latin America.

The facility will include office space for the company’s executive and sales teams as well as manufacturing space. The company launched its sales operations in Delaware County this month. It plans to create 25 jobs by the end of 2022. Tax credits have been approved for the project.

The announcement comes amid Holcomb’s economic development trip to Italy.
