MUNCIE, Ind. - A two-year-old Muncie boy who died five days after an Independence Day drowning will save other children's lives through organ donation.
Abraham Joseph Campbell was pronounced dead at Riley Hospital for Children on Monday, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office.
But his father, Chris Campbell, says his "little hero" has one last mission before they say goodbye: His organs will be donated so that other children can live.
"That's my hero's gold medal for donating," said Campbell. "He will be going to surgery (Wednesday) morning at 5 a.m. to save other children's lives."
Around 6 p.m. on July 4, family members called 911 to report a toddler missing from a home on East Dudley Street. During the call, family members found Abraham in the family pool.

"He was everything except a typical two-year-old," said Chris. "He had an ornery soul and beautiful brain. He loved so hard and played even harder. Whether he was vacuuming or dancing, he put his all into everything he did. Abe was a special individual who will never ever be forgotten."
