MUNCIE, Ind. – A teenager was fatally shot outside of a Muncie restaurant Thursday afternoon.
Muncie police said 17-year-old Allaya Jackson was shot outside Tuppee Tong Thai restaurant at 310 W. Main Street. She was pronounced dead at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Officers said a woman accused of shooting Jackson surrendered at Muncie City Hall shortly after the incident.
The shooting happened following the sentencing of 20-year-old Deshaun Jackson, police said, and those at the scene were at the hearing.
The woman was taken into police custody, but later released.
