FISHERS — The Fishers Fire Department headquarters is starting to come down.
Demolition of the headquarters on Municipal Drive in downtown Fishers will officially begin Tuesday, but firefighters began the process over the weekend by taking saws and axes to the building as a training exercise for the crews.
A new $9.4 million fire station and headquarters will be built on the same location. It is expected to take 18 months to complete.
