KOKOMO, Ind. -- The visitation for Howard County Deputy Carl Koontz will begin on Monday, and the public is invited to pay their respects.
Thousands are expected to attend.

Dep. Koontz was shot and killed in the line of duty on March 20 while attempting to serve a warrant in Russiaville, Indiana.

Koontz's casket arrived at Northwestern High School Monday morning.
At the high school, Koontz was a school resource officer -- helping keep the halls safe for the kids there.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. inside the school's gym. It is open to the public.
Organizers ask anybody attending to enter through the school's main entrance -- labeled Door No. 1.

The funeral service for Dep. Koontz will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29 at Northwestern High School. The procession to Albright Cemetery in Kokomo is expected to start around 2:30 p.m.
