BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY — Bartholomew County Sheriff's deputies on Sunday rescued a woman trapped in her home by high water.

According to a report from the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday on report of a woman trapped inside her house with a foot of water due to the recent heavy rain and storms.

Members of the Bartholomew County Water Rescue Team responded and shuttled a small boat across the fast-flowing water to the residence to rescue the woman.

Road closed signs were put up at the entrance to South Ferguson Road because of the dangerous high water.
