The home sustained significant damage in the fire. Though the occupants weren't home at the time, two dogs were. One dog was not able to escape in time. The second dog, a chocolate lab, was resuscitated by firefighters on the scene and is expected to make a full recovery

The home's occupants told firefighters they think a discarded cigarette may have started the fire, although there is no official cause yet.
