Dog killed in house fire on city's north side

INDIANAPOLIS -- A dog was killed in a house fire on the city's north side Saturday. 

The Indianapolis Fire Department says the fire started around noon at a home in the 2400 block of North New Jersey Street. 

Investigators say the homeowner and a firefighter suffered minor injuries. 

The fire caused about $75,000 in damage to the home. 

Investigators are still trying to determine how it started.
