INDIANAPOLIS -- The #BooksforBeverland book drive has ended but book donations are still pouring in.
RTV6 collected 2,453 books Monday to support one of Susan Jordan's favorite things: Reading.
Jordan, Principal of Amy Beverland Elementary School, was struck and killed by a bus last Tuesday.
More books will be arriving at the school on Thursday. Lawrence Township school officials say Houghton-Mifflin delivering a semi full.
Barnes and Noble is also coordinating a book drive through February 7.
A memorial label will be placed in each donated book, which will then be sorted by reading level and boxed to be sent out to Lawrence Township schools.
School officials say the goal is to add to each Lawrence Township teacher's classroom library, each school's media center, and also have books that can be sent home with each student for summer reading.
Books may also be donated to schools and organizations outside Lawrence Township as the number of donations continues to grow.
