INDIANAPOLIS -- Founded in 2000, the Dove Recovery House has spent more than a decade-and-a-half helping women recover from addiction.
The difference between the Dove House and many programs is the length of the program: women stay from anywhere from 90 days to two years. Patients also learn to cook, pay bills, work and make amends with family and society.
It's often a better option for women with serious additions, said Dove House Executive Director Wendy Noe.
"They may go to a facility where they can detox for a few days, and the next thing that happens is they are going back to their old neighborhoods," Noe said.
Noe said 72 percent of women complete the 90-day program. Overall, the Dove House claims a 64-percent success rate for women permanently giving up drugs and returning to society.
