INDIANAPOLIS — An intersection in Downtown Indianapolis was shut down Sunday night after a water main broke near the Hyatt Regency.

Ben Easley, a spokesperson for the Indianapolis Department of Public Works, said a service line break at the Hyatt Regency caused water to pool into the street near Washington Street and Capitol Avenue.

The intersection of Washington and Capitol is closed, along with sidewalks in the area.

Dan Considine, manager of corporate communications for Citizens Energy Group, said a contractor is making repairs to the break in the hotel's water service line and a Citizens crew is standing by to assist.

Citizens expects the work to be completed by 10 or 11 p.m.
