INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis organization Dress for Success is calling on you to help women do just that.

This month, the nonprofit is making a big push to collect new or gently worn suits and other professional attire.

The organization’s executive director, Julie Petr, said the right outfit can play a big role in empowering women on their journey to get back on their feet.

“They're able to come to Dress for Success Indianapolis when they're searching for jobs, and really get that professional look that's going to make them feel confident, and look really great for the interview, and we align that then with job and career placement services and ongoing professional training,” Petr said.

The donation drive kicks off Friday on Monument Circle.

Volunteers will be in front of the Emmis Communications building, collecting items from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You don't even have to get out of your car. You can also drop off donations any time of year, at the Dress for Success headquarters at 820 N. Meridian St., Monday through Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

You must go to the side or garage door and ring the buzzer for assistance.
