PAOLI, Ind. -- The driver of the semi that caused the historic Paoli bridge in Southern Indiana to collapse is facing charges.
The driver is charged with reckless operation of a tractor trailer and disregarding traffic signs.
Investigators say the semi was carrying 43,000 pounds of water when the bridge gave way.
They say the truck was nearly six times over the weight limit.
The bridge is expected to be closed for several months.
