BROWNSBURG, Ind. -- Students in Brownsburg head back to school Tuesday for the first time since four of their classmates died in a car accident.

Hundreds of people gathered Sunday night to remember the teens.

The victims are:

  • Mathew Chambers, 17
  • Lucas Kenworthy, 18
  • Noah Tex, 17
  • Riley Hurst, 17

Chambers' mother said her son was friends with everyone.

Kenworthy's sister said he always made her laugh.

Tex was a junior who loved playing the drums.

Hurst was known to always flash a smile.

The loss of the young lives is a jolting realization of how fragile life is, another teenager said at the vigil.

"It just kind of makes us understand that we have to be careful because it could have been any one of us," Mariah Begley, a Brownsburg High School graduate, said. "I'm sure they never thought that was going to happen."
