INDIANAPOLIS -- After the tragedies in Baton Rouge, France and Turkey, a group of people on the near-east side of Indianapolis wanted to make their actions speak volumes.

"There's been enough talking in the media, there's been enough talking everywhere,"  Kenny McRee said. "We don't want to talk. We want to pray"

People gathered at Douglas Park Sundy afternoon to take a stand against violence and pray for peace in the world.

"We need to come together -- at the end of the day its for our kids, its not about us," Carl Thompson said. "It's about generations to come."

People of all ages and backgrounds greeted each other with hugs and open hearts.

"Do not judge -- it's that simple," McRee said. "Do not judge. That's God's job, not ours"

They first sat down to discuss their struggles, their families and problems facing their neighborhoods. Then they joined hands in prayer.

It's a grassroots effort for change -- the organizers are from a local motorcycle group. It was their fourth prayer for peace rally, with each one growing in numbers.

"What we want to see is this thing branch out and go viral all over the United States so that we can keep this violence away from our children and hope that they can grow up to see a better day," Thompson said.
