KOKOMO — The father of a 15-year-old boy killed in a car crash during a police chase last year is suing the police department in Kokomo and the town of Battle Ground.
Travis Abston Junior died in a two-car crash in Kokomo in September 2018 during a police chase. The chase started after a Battle Ground officer claimed Abston had a gun and was planning on carrying out a school shooting.
Now, Abston's father has filed a suit claiming the officer made up the story about the gun and that Kokomo police "engaged in a pattern of misinformation."
