The FBI is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who they say may have critical information in a child sexual assault case.
In a press release sent out on Wednesday, the FBI says the man they are seeking may have information about the identity of a child sexual assault victim in an ongoing child sexual exploitation case.
Videos of the man, who they only know as John Doe 37, were originally recorded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in June of 2014. The FBI believes those videos were shot in April of 2012. Audio from the movie "The Land Before Time" can also be heard in the background.
John Doe 37 is described as a white male with brown hair who wears dark-framed glasses.
Anyone with information to provide should submit a tip online at https://tips.fbi.gov/, or call the FBI’s toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
John Doe 37 is being sought as part of the FBI's Operation Rescue Me and Endangered Child Alert Program (ECAP) initiatives. Operation Rescue Me focuses on utilizing clues obtained through in-depth image analysis to identify the child victims depicted in child exploitation material. ECAP seeks national and international media exposure of unknown adults who visibly display their faces and/or other distinguishing characteristics in association with child pornography images.
