MARTINSVILLE —The body of the fifth victim who fell into the White River while boating with family on Labor Day has been pulled from the river near Martinsville.
Indiana Department of Natural Resources PIO Angela Goldman said a large family was spending Labor Day on the river picnicking and fishing and seven people were on a john boat when it capsized, sending them all into the water.
Four people were pulled from the water, including Emilia Vargas, 73, Mexico, and Amisadai Elel Conchas, 6. Vargas and Conchas both died and three other family members went missing under the water.
The the bodies of Niseforo Sanchez, 63, Mexico and Rigoberto Conchas, 40, were recovered the next day and crews spent Wednesday and Thursday morning searching for Antonio Sanchez-Maldonado, 32.
Sanchez-Maldonado's body was recovered early Thursday morning.
