INDIANAPOLIS — A late-morning fire Monday caused major damage to a house in the Richmond Hill neighborhood on the Indianapolis southeast side.

That's near East Stop 11 Road and South Sherman Drive.

It's the same neighborhood where two people died in a 2012 explosion.

Today's blaze broke out around 10 a.m. at the house on Armada Drive and was so intense that siding on two neighboring houses was damaged.

Firefighters at the scene said it appeared the fire broke out in the garage of the house.

As a precaution, gas was cut off to houses in the area.

The fire was still burning more than one hour after it broke out.

There were no reported injuries in the blaze and no word yet on what caused the fire.
