INDIANAPOLIS -- An early-evening fire Tuesday left heavy damage at a southwest side apartment complex.
Firefighters from Decatur and Wayne Townships, along with the Indianapolis Fire Department, responded to the fire at the Horizons Apartments.
That's on Mann Road near Interstate-465.
It took about one hour to get the fire under control.
Firefighters reported flames and heavy smoke at they arrived. One building containing multiple units was damaged,
Residents of seven apartments were being helped by the Red Cross in finding a place to stay.
There is no word yet on the cause of the fire. No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported.
