INDIANAPOLIS — Two men were critically injured in an apartment fire Saturday night on the east side of Indianapolis.

According to information from the Indianapolis Fire Department, firefighters were called just after 8:45 p.m. to the The Atrium Village Apartments, a single-story building in the 9800 block of E. 25th St.

IFD Battalion Chief Rita Reith said two men were found injured outside the apartment complex, and both were transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

A woman was treated for a cut to one of her hands that she suffered when she broke a window at the burning apartment.

Reith said the fire was extinguished in 41 minutes. It is not clear if the building had working fire alarms, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

All six of the building's residents, including the two injured men, were displaced.
