FISHERS — The city of Fishers and the Fishers Parks Foundation are more than halfway to their funding goal to create a memorial to Gold Star families.
The city plans to install the Fishers Gold Star Families Memorial Monument on the Central Green in front of City Hall. The monument is to honor the survivors of veterans who gave the greatest sacrifice in the armed forces.
Plans are for the monument to be dedicated on Memorial Day.
The city is trying to raise $60,000 to complete the project. So far, more than $33,000 has been raised for the project.
